Thank You
"I hope my story and gratitude is a reminder of how your support and effort makes a difference. And I think this is something to be proud of."
In writing my story, I have struggled with how much detail to provide. Domestic violence is a heavy topic, and it can be uncomfortable. But it’s so important that we have these conversations not only in our community, but in society generally. It’s a complex problem that has such far-reaching consequences. However, it is an issue that affects everyone. Tackling such a difficult issue is not easy, and it’s not something that can be solved overnight. But the decisions and resources that are invested in making our community a safer and healthier one truly has an impact. The decisions we make today shape our future. And there is a real benefit in that.
As a survivor, my story is one of many. And I am truly appreciative of those who are able to support CAWES in continuing to fulfill their vital role. It is a continuous challenge, and often the dollars don’t reach far enough. But that doesn’t negate the very real difference that is made with what we can contribute.
I offer the heartfelt thanks and story of one person whose life has been positively impacted because CAWES has been there. Your contributions do make a difference, and this is true for so many others besides myself. And I believe that when each of us contribute in the ways that we can, together we build a safety and stronger community. Collective effort can be an incredibly powerful force to effect change.
I hope my story and gratitude is a reminder of how your support and effort makes a difference. And I think this is something to be proud of.
Thank you,
Cheralee
